AGREEMENT <br />THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into by and between the City of Lakewood, Ohio, hereinafter <br />referred to as the "City," and the Lakewood Association of Firefighters, Local #382 of the International <br />Association of Firefighters, AFL-CIO, hereinafter referred to as the "Association" The term "member" <br />or "members," where used in this Agreement, refers to all classified sworn members of the Division of <br />Fire, excluding the Chief of Fire and one (1) officer from the rank of Assistant Chief designated by the <br />Chief as the Executive Assistant Chief, and excluding all other employees represented by other unions. <br />It is the purpose of this Agreement to achieve and maintain harmonious relations between the City and <br />the Association, to provide the City with the forest, most efficient and most effective firefighting force <br />possible; to provide the maximum protection for life and property; to provide a fair and responsible <br />method of enabling members covered by this Agreement to participate through Union representation in <br />the establishment of terms and conditions of their employment; and to establish a peaceful procedure for <br />the adjustment and resolution of differences which may arise under this Agreement between the parties. <br />The male pronoun or adjective where used herein refers to the female also, unless otherwise indicated. <br />ARTICLE <br />RECOGNITION <br />1.01 The City hereby recognizes the Lakewood Association of Firefighters, Local #382 of the <br />International Association of Firefighters, AFL-CIO, as the sole and exclusive agent and representative <br />of all classified members, excluding the Chief of Fire and the Executive Assistant Chief of the Division <br />of Fire in the City of Lakewood, for the purpose of collective bargaining and representation with respect <br />to wages, hours, and all other terms and conditions of employment, pursuant to 4117 et seq. Ohio Revised <br />Code. <br />ARTICLE 2 <br />CHECK OFF <br />2.01 The City shall deduct, each month, dues from the pay of members eo eied 6. this Agreement, <br />of Lakewood Association of Firefighters, Local #382 of the International Association of Firefighters, <br />AFL-CIO, provided that any member shall have the right to revoke such authorizations, pursuant to the <br />provision of Section 4117 of the Ohio Revised Code. The City shall transmit to the Association, on or <br />before the fifteenth (156) working day of the following month, all monies withheld during each month, <br />along with a list of all members for whom deductions have been made, and, upon receipt, the Association <br />shall assume full responsibility for the disposition of all funds deducted. <br />r�....... six: arnrxae—sm.m.—amp <br />
