Bullock, l.itten, Neff, O'Malley, Rader, Shachner RESOLUTION NO.2020-05 BY A RESOLUTION to recognize Miss Zenovia Parkanzky for the talented writing, civic pride, and heartfelt sentiments she displayed in her award -winning essay "Why I Love Lakewood." WHEREAS, in 2019 the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce sponsored its annual essay contest open to all fourth graders in the City resulting in over 170 submissions, and; WHEREAS, a panel of six judges assessed all submissions based on originality, organization, descriptive language, and grammar, and; WHEREAS, Zenya's essay beautifully expresses her excitement and appreciation of Lakewood's unique retailers, restaurants, and most of all, Lakewood Park and; WHEREAS, the panel of judges selected Zenovia Parkanzky's essay as the best overall submission, awarding her a cash prize and the opportunity to ride in the Light Up Lakewood parade on December 7, 2019. Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: Section 1. That this Council does hereby recognize Miss Zenovia Parkanzky for her sincere and well -written expressions of civic pride which resulted in her winning the 2019 Lakewood Chamber of Commerce's "Why I Love Lakewood" Essay Contest. Section 2. That this Council does hereby recognize the proud family of Zenovia Parkanzky for their encouragement of Zenya's reading, writing, and civic pride. Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to present a certified copy of this resolution to Zenovia Parkanzky and her family. Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. s Adopted: PRESIDENT CLERK Approved: MAY
