4.03 An employee shall have the right to revoke such authorization by giving written notice to <br />the City and the Local Union Treasurer at any time Revocation of Union membership does nor <br />revoke union dues authorization, which may be revoked as set forth below. <br />Any voluntary dues checkoff authorization shall be irrevocable, regardless of whether an employee <br />has revoked Union membership, for a period of one (1) year from the date of the execution of the <br />dues checkoff authorization and for year to year thereafter, unless the employee gives employer <br />and the Union written notice of revocation not less than ten (10) days and not more than twenty- <br />five (25) days before the end of any yearly period. Copies of employees' dues checkoff <br />authorization cards are available from the Union upon request. <br />4.04 The City's obligation to make deduction shall terminate automatically upon termination of <br />employment or transfer to a job classification outside the bargaining unit. <br />4.05 The parties agree that the employer assumes no obligation, financial or otherwise, arising <br />out of the provisions of this Article regarding the deduction of union dues or fair share fees (agency <br />fees). The Union hereby agrees that it will indemnify and hold the employer harmless from any <br />claims, actions or proceedings by any employee arising from deductions made by the employer <br />pursuant to the Article, unless specifically excepted above. <br />4.06 The City shall provide the Union with a list of employees who enter or exit the bargaining <br />unit promptly after the employees enter or exit the bargaining unit. The parties agree that should <br />fair -share fees become valid through a ruling by a court of competent jurisdiction of legislative <br />action, the prior language and procedures in Section 4.06, 4.07, 4.08 and 4.09 of the originally <br />approved 2017-2019 collective bargaining agreement between the parties shall be reinserted into <br />this agreement, and fair -share fees shall be deducted, per the previously established procedure, at <br />a prorated rate beginning with the effective date of the court order or law. <br />4.07 <br />4.08 <br />4.09 <br />4..06 Employees may authorize the City to deduct voluntary contributions to Public Employees <br />Organized to Promote Legislative Equality (PEOPLE) by payroll deductions (check -off). Upon <br />receipt of the employee's PEOPLE deduction authorization, the City shall make the deduction and <br />remit monthly to PEOPLE all such deducted contributions. PEOPLE contributions shall be <br />deducted and processed separately from dues or fair share deductions. <br />ARTICLE 5 <br />MANAGEMENT RIGHTS <br />5.01 Except as specified otherwise in this Agreement, the City has the right and responsibility <br />to: 1) determine matters of inherent managerial rights, which include, but are not limited to, areas <br />
