ARTICLE 1 PURPOSE <br />1.01 This Agreement is made between the City of Lakewood, Ohio hereinafter referred to as <br />the "City," and Ohio Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council, Inc. (FOP/OLC), hereinafter <br />referred to as the "Union." The "employee" or "employees" where used herein refers to all <br />regular full-time employees in the bargaining unit. The purpose of this Agreement is to provide <br />a fair and responsible method of enabling employees covered by this Agreement to participate <br />through Union representation in the establishment of terms and conditions of their employment <br />and to establish a peaceful procedure for the resolution of all differences between the parties. <br />ARTICLE 2 RECOGNITION <br />2.01 The FOP/OLC is recognized as the sole and exclusive representative for a bargaining unit <br />of all regular full-time Dispatcher employees in the Department of Public Safety for the purpose <br />of establishing terms and conditions of employment. The City will not recognize any other <br />Union, organization, or person as the representative for any of the Dispatcher employees. <br />ARTICLE 3 NON-DISCRIMINATION <br />3.01 Both the City and the Union recognize their respective responsibilities under the Federal <br />and State Civil Rights Laws, fair employment practice acts, and other similar <br />constitutional and statutory requirements. Therefore, both the City and the Union hereby <br />reaffirm their commitments, legal and moral, not to discriminate in any manner relating <br />to employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, <br />gender identity/expression, genetic information, military status, veteran status, sexual <br />orientation, union membership or activity, or ancestry. <br />3.02 The City recognizes the right of all Dispatchers to be free to join the Union.
