Bullock, Kepple, Litten; Neff, O'Malley, Rader, <br />Shachner <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2020-23 BY: <br />A RESOLUTION to recognize and thank Bryce Sylvester for his eight years of public <br />service and achievements as Director of Planning & Development for the City of Lakewood. <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Sylvester started his tenure with the City as an intern, working his way <br />to full-time City Planner, and eventually becoming Director of Planning & Development; and, <br />WHEREAS, on December 5, 2016, Bryce Sylvester's appointment as Director of <br />Planning & Development by Mayor Michael P. Summers was unanimously confirmed by City <br />Council; and, <br />WHEREAS, during his time leading the Planning & Development Department under two <br />Mayors, Mr. Sylvester oversaw the implementation of the City's Master Bike Plan, the <br />rejuvenation of a myriad of storefronts, and strategically used the Land Acquisition Fund to <br />preserve the integrity and architecture of significant structures in the Lakewood community; and, <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Sylvester's service has been characterized by his unique ability to easily <br />convey complex concepts in public forums, willingness to work with Council and residents to <br />ensure projects' neighborhood fit, and talent for attracting investment in Lakewood's commercial <br />corridors; and, <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Sylvester will be missed by Council, his staff, and the many employees <br />and constituents whose lives he has touched through his creative methods of making Lakewood <br />an even better place to live, work, and play; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council recognizes and thanks Mr. Bryce Sylvester for his eight <br />years of public service and achievements as Director of Planning & Development for the City of <br />Lakewood. <br />Section 2. That this Council bids farewell to Mr. Sylvester and wishes him all the best in <br />the next chapter of his career. <br />Section 3.
