His emphasis on <br /> preparing for and deescalating crisis has transformed the entire Lakewood Police Department <br /> and benefitted our community. ChiefMalley's training of our police officers on CIT principles <br /> is evident in the positive,peaceful outcomes of the demonstrations over the past weekend. <br /> Other strategies include every officer wearing a body cam, which are audited at random twice <br /> a month. The Lakewood Police Department is also certified by the Ohio Collaborative <br /> Community Police Advisory Board, which is a 12 person panel offormer law enforcement and <br /> community leaders that establish standards to guide law enforcement in Ohio. There are <br /> mental health evaluations, behavior monitoring,firearms training, use offorce policy review, <br /> and community policing...
