U% qpple, Lit.t.cn -Ncfif, 'OWalIcy, R�dcr RESOLUTION NO. 2020-52 BY: A RESOLUTION to recognize and thank Gary Rick for the quality of his service and impactful leadership to the City of Lakewood in both his roles as Executive Director of the Lakewood YMCA and as an active participant on the Lakewood Community Relations Advisory Commission. WHEREAS, as a capstone to his long career with the YMCA, Mr. Rick moved to Lakewood in 2011 to accept the position of Executive Director with the Lakewood YMCA; and, WHEREAS, as a result of his outreach and engagement with the community in that position, Mr. Rick was appointed by Council in 2016 to serve on the Lakewood Community Relations Advisory Commission; and, WHEREAS, in both of his roles as a volunteer with the City and as a leader at the YMCA, Mr. Rick inspired others and promoted the causes of social responsibility, diversity, and youth development, among others; and, WHEREAS, while Mr. Rick will soon be gone from Lakewood, the legacy of his many contributions will remain strong; Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and Administration does hereby thank Mr. Gary Rick for the quality of his service and leadership as an active and engaged citizen of the City of Lakewood. Section 2. That this Council and Administration does hereby express well -wishes and many scuba -diving adventures to Mr. Gary Rick throughout his retirement and relocation to Pennsylvania. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements.
