RESOLUTION NO. 2020-60 <br />Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff, <br />BY: Of Malley, Rader, Shachner <br />A RESOLUTION to recognize and thank Chief Timothy Malley for the extraordinary <br />length and quality of his service and leadership to the Lakewood Police Department over the past <br />thirty-eight years. <br />WHEREAS, Chief Malley began his career with the Lakewood Police Department in <br />1982 as a patrol officer, where through hard work and determination he was thereafter promoted <br />through many ranks to the position of Chief in 2002; and, <br />WHEREAS, Chief Malley's service to the City and the Police Department has been <br />characterized by his steady, calm demeanor, thoughtful leadership, effective mentorship of the <br />department's rising leaders, and moving the department forward into the modern era of policing; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, Chief Malley successfully transitioned the Lakewood Police Department <br />into the 21 St century by embracing and implementing new policies and technologies such as <br />Crisis Intervention Training, police body cameras, street cameras and vehicle cameras; and, <br />WHEREAS, Chief Malley has shaped the Lakewood Police Department into an <br />organization which embodies the values of public service and effective community policing by <br />establishing trust and partnership between Lakewood residents and police; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council and Administration does hereby thank Chief Timothy Malley <br />for the extraordinary length and quality of his service and leadership to the Lakewood Police <br />Department since 1982. <br />Section 2. That this Council and Administration does hereby express that Chief Malley <br />experience an enjoyable retirement, free from the weight of his many responsibilities as Chief. <br />Section 3. That this Council and Administration does hereby wish Chief Malley, his wife <br />Patty and his three children all the best in their future endeavors in Lakewood and beyond. <br />Section 4.
