Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff, <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2020-53A BY: 0' Malley, Rader, Shac hner <br />A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be <br />in force after the earliest period allowed by law to amend Resolution 2020-53, <br />adopted November 2, 2020 to make appointments to the Anti -Racism Task Force. <br />V► HEREAS, on November 23, 2020 Lakewood City Council adopted Resolution <br />2020-53 to make appointments to the Anti -Racism Task Force; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood received approximately 30 applications by <br />well-intentioned and well -qualified residents eager to serve on the Anti -Racism Task <br />Force; and, <br />WHEREAS, Council and the Mayor expressed a desire to expand the task force by <br />one member each in order to include a greater number of perspectives; and, <br />WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 2.12 of the Third Amended Charter of the City <br />of Lakewood, this Council by a vote of at least two thirds of its members determines that <br />this resolution is an emergency measure and that it shall take effect immediately, and that <br />it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health, and safety <br />and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments, in that this position <br />should be filled immediately so as to ensure the Task Force is at full capacity to perform <br />its work; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That Resolution 2020-53, adopted November 2, 2020, currently reading <br />as follows: <br />Section 1. Council appoints Angelina Steiner , William Yeung , and Lily <br />Trimble , to the Anti -Racism Task Force for a term beginning immediately and ending <br />December 31, 2022. <br />Section 2. Council appoints Sam Pearson and Carmella Lee to the Anti -Racism <br />Task Force for a term beginning immediately and ending December 31, 2021. <br />Section 3.... <br />Is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Section 1.... <br />Section 2. Council appoints Sam Pearson s -an Carmella Lee _ and Wayne <br />Smith to the Anti -Racism Task Force for a term beginning immediately and ending December 31, <br />2021. <br />Section 3 ... . <br />
