Committee made the necessary substitutions and that Council will ensure they are reflected <br /> upon passage. <br /> On the motion: A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Litten, O'Malley, Neff, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. Ordinance 49-2020 was deferred. <br /> 4. Public Safety Committee report regarding meeting held January 4, 2021. (to be provided) <br /> Councilmember Neff read the following oral report into the record: <br /> The committee had a short discussion about the Edwards Ave. parking study, which resulted <br /> from the city receiving resident complaints as the Truck Park was first opening. The study was <br /> well done, but the city has not had opportunity to sit down with establishment owners in the <br /> area that will help the situation. Councilmember Bullock and I will help city facilitate <br /> communication. The other topic discussed was the neighborhood-policing program. All <br /> councilmembers expressed concern aboutprogram going away, however the Lakewood Police <br /> Department culture supports community policing. There were 10 plus officer vacancies this <br /> past year due to unforeseen circumstances. The community policing program may not be fully <br /> staffed until a year from now, as the department undertakes a robust vetting process to get the <br /> right officers in place. <br /> Councilmember Neff made a motion, seconded by President O'Malley to receive and file the <br /> oral report. <br /> A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Litten, O'Malley, Neff, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. The oral report was received and filed. <br /> President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Vice President Litten to suspend the rules so <br /> that items 45 though 412 could be read consecutively. <br /> A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Litten, O'Malley, Neff, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. Items 45 through 412 were read consecutively. <br />
