President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Rader to refer Ordinance 02- <br /> 20221 to the Health & Human Services Committee. <br /> A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff, O'Malley, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. Ordinance 02-2021 was referred to the Health& Human Services Committee. <br /> 24. Communication from Councilmembers Kepple and others regarding the Capitol Riot. (pg. <br /> 251) <br /> President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Vice President Litten to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff, O'Malley, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. The communication was received and filed. <br /> 25. RESOLUTION 2021-07 — A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take <br /> effect at the earliest period allowed by law, condemning the violent and unlawful behavior <br /> of rioters at the United States Capitol on January 6h, 2021 ; and urging local, state and <br /> federal entities to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law and bring to justice to those who <br /> incited, planned, organized, and conducted the Capitol rioting; and rebuking those elected <br /> officials who incited and misled the public with false claims of election fraud or seditious <br /> attempts to usurp the will of the voters; and calling on the United States Senate to convict <br /> and disqualify outgoing President Donald J. Trump from holding any office of honor,trust <br /> or profit under the United States. (pg. 253) <br /> President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Vice President Litten to adopt Resolution <br /> 2021-07. <br /> Discussion: President O'Malley thanked Councilmember Kepple for her leadership on this <br /> issue. He condemned the riot and its violence, and expressed pride that City Council was <br /> speaking out against it. Councilmembers expressed support and noted the multiple public <br /> comments received on this item. Without objection,President O'Malley asked that the attached <br /> comments be included in the record of the meeting. <br /> On the motion: A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br />
