RESOLUTION 2021-06 - A RESOLUTION proclaiming the Month of January 2021 as <br /> the City of Lakewood joins the Firefighter Cancer Support Network and the International <br /> Association of Fire Fighters declaring January 2021 Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month. <br /> (pg. 297) <br /> President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Vice President Litten to adopt Resolution <br /> 2021-06. <br /> Discussion: President O'Malley shared his family's connection to firefighting and expressed <br /> approval that the state legislature passed the Palumbo Act, which allows for the presumption <br /> of line of duty death for those diagnosed with cancer. He stated that the federal and state <br /> governments need to do more in supporting firefighters diagnosed with cancer. <br /> Councilmember Neffshared her experience touring afire station with Chief Dunphy and her <br /> renewed appreciation for firefighters. Vice President Litten noted how the resolution <br /> underscores the improvements being made at Fire Station #2. Chief Dunphy stated that the <br /> Lakewood Fire Department has been doing all that it can to reduce risks to cancer and that he <br /> appreciates the support of the administration and Council. <br /> On the motion: A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff, O'Malley, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. Resolution 2021-06 was adopted. <br /> ....LIQUOR PERMITS.... <br /> 46. Liquor permit notice regarding Pinzone Hospitality at 12401-03 Detroit Ave. (pg. 299) <br /> President O'Malley stated he has no reason to objection. <br /> President O'Malley made a motion to receive and file the notice. <br /> A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff, O'Malley, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed.
