President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Vice President Litten to adopt Resolution 2021-05. A roll call vote was taken as follows: Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff, O'Malley, Rader, Shachner Nays —None Motion passed. Resolution 2021-05 was adopted. 6. ORDINANCE 01-2021 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force at the earliest period allowed by law, to approve the editing and inclusion of certain ordinances as parts of the various component codes of the Codified Ordinances and to provide for the publication of such new matter. ORDINANCE 02-2021 - AN ORDINANCE to establish paid parental leave benefits for full-time employees of the City of Lakewood. (Is' read and referred to HHS 01/19/21) (pg. 23) President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Vice President Litten to defer Ordinance 02-2021. Discussion: Vice President Litten mentioned that he received a question from a resident regarding whether the ordinance should be considered in the Finance Committee. He stated he wasn't opposed to vetting it in Health & Human Services Committee however. Councilmember Rader stated is preference that the ordinance be handled in one single committee, in order to streamline public comment and feedback. He added that the financials of the ordinance should not be majorly impacffil on the budget. Mayor George stated that Director Rancatore could be invited to a committee meeting to discuss the financials of the ordinance. It was determined that the ordinance would remain in Health & Human Services committee.
