Communication from Law Director Corrigan regarding settlement agreement with <br /> Jeffrey & Jean Ritchie (pg. 86) <br /> President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Vice President Litten to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff, O'Malley, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. RESOLUTION 2021-11 -A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or <br /> otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, <br /> authorizing the Mayor and Director of Law to enter into an agreement with Jeffrey <br /> Ritchie and Jean Ritchie,in the amount of$13,500.00 for the full and final settlement of <br /> all claims raised in and related to the demolition of Lakewood Hospital. (pg. 87) <br /> President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Rader to adopt Resolution <br /> 2021-11. <br /> Discussion: Vice President Litten asked if other houses that were impacted have been sorted <br /> through. Director Corrigan noted that other homes did not have as serious damage, so they <br /> were settled for amounts that were below the threshold that required Council approval. <br /> President O'Malley inquired about who was making the payment. Director Corrigan stated <br /> he believes they are moral claims that the city is assuming.
