Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. The communication was received and filed. <br /> 6. RESOLUTION 2021-14 -A RESOLUTION to join with states, municipalities, and other <br /> jurisdictions around the country to designate April as Arab American Heritage Month in <br /> the City of Lakewood, Ohio by celebrating the Arab American culture and paying tribute <br /> to the contributions of Arab Americans. (pg. 19) <br /> President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Bullock to adopt Resolution <br /> 2021-14. <br /> Discussion: President O'Malley expressed his delight to introduce the resolution and <br /> highlighted Arab Americans contributions to society and the Lakewood community. Pierre <br /> Bejjani & Awate Fassad of the Arab American Foundation thanked Council for the honor. <br /> Councilmember Rader thanked Council for its leadership on the issue and expressed pride in <br /> the resolution. <br /> On the motion: A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Neff, O'Malley, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. Resolution 2021-14 was adopted. <br /> 7. Communication from President O'Malley, Vice President Litten and Councilmember <br /> Bullock regarding Use of American Rescue Plan funds by the City of Lakewood. (pg. 20) <br /> President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Bullock to refer the <br /> communication to the Finance Committee. <br /> Discussion: Councilmember Bullock credited Congresswoman Kaptur's efforts to secure <br /> funding for northern Ohio.President O'Malley noted the significant amount offunding coming <br /> to municipalities throughout the state. He stated the importance ofgetting the funding to those <br /> most affected by the pandemic. <br /> On the motion: A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Neff, O'Malley, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed.
