Referred to PWS 6/7/21 Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff, RESOLUTION NO.2021-25 BY: O'Malley, Rader, Shachner A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least five members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the Mayor, Director of Public Works and City Engineer, to submit an application for the NatureWorks Grant through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, to ex- ecute any and all agreement necessary to accept an award and to obligate funds required to com- plete the project to become eligible for reimbursement under the grant program. WHEREAS, the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, admin- isters financial assistance for public recreation purposes, through the State of Ohio NatureWorks grant program; and WHEREAS, Lakewood desires financial assistance under the NatureWorks Grant Program for renovation to Foster Pool at Lakewood Park; and WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 2.12 of the Third Amended Charter of the City of Lake- wood, this Council by a vote of at least two thirds of its members determines that this resolution is an emergency measure and that it shall take effect immediately, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health, and safety and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that applications for this grant are due June 1, 2 02 1; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: Section 1. That the Mayor, Director of Public Works and City Engineer are authorized to submit an application for the NatureWorks Grant program the Ohio Department of Natural Re- sources financial assistance. Section 2. That the Mayor, Director of Public Works and City Engineer are authorized to execute any agreements necessary for an award under the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, NatureWorks Grant pro gram . Section 3. That Lakewood hereby agrees to obligate the funds required to satisfactorily complete the proposed project and become eligible for reimbursement under the terms of the Na- tureWorks Grant Program. Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
