MINUTES OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br /> May 10, 2021 <br /> Online Broadcast Meeting <br /> Present: Councilmembers O'Malley, Bullock, Kepple, Litten, & Shachner <br /> Also Present: Mayor George, Chief Kaucheck, Director Corrigan, Chief Dunphy, Director <br /> Leininger, members of the public, & Deputy Clerk Lascu taking minutes <br /> Start time: 6:00 p.m. <br /> AGENDA <br /> Approval of the minutes of the March 1, 2021 Committee of the Whole. <br /> President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Vice President Litten to approve the minutes. <br /> A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Litten, O'Malley, & Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. The minutes were approved. <br /> Communication from Councilmembers Bullock, Rader, Kepple& Shachner regarding <br /> additional park amenities near Madison Park basketball court. (Referred to COW 05/3/21) <br /> Councilmember Bullock gave an overview of the communication, highlighting its purpose as a <br /> placeholder while the city figures out a larger plan for the park in the future. <br /> President O'Malley complimented the Planning Department and the community for its work <br /> conceptualizing changes at various city parks in the past,particularly pointing to the process <br /> involved in reworking Clifton-Prado park. He added that process being used at Madison Park <br /> would be ideal. <br /> Vice President Litten noted he put together a spreadsheet of all the different safety ideas for <br /> Madison Park, which accounted for ideas from community members regarding the placement <br /> and design of the park to better promote safety. <br /> Mayor George indicated that her administration is looking to better plan the southern part of <br /> Madison Park, eyeing the installation of smaller items, like a barbecue pit, that would promote <br /> community interaction prior to a larger planning discussion being held. Councilmembers <br /> approved of the mayor's plan. <br /> Communication from Councilmembers Kepple, Shachner & Neff regarding intersectional <br /> and holistic safety approaches. (Referred to COW 4/19/21) <br />
