Councilmember Bullock further remarked that the Rec Department is limited to working within <br /> its resources and that the City must pitch in to help with those. He remarked that investing in <br /> fields is an investment in the community and diversity. <br /> In response to additional public comment, Ms. Shaughnessy expressed the School Board's <br /> commitment to listening and working more effectively with the City. <br /> Without objection, Councilmember Rader stated that the committee recommends that a <br /> stakeholder in the room be included in the weekly MOU meetings and that that the committee <br /> supports a $150,000 investment to improve fields. <br /> Councilmember Litten expressed appreciation to the Mayor for her commitment to Fox Field. <br /> Regarding the MOU, he stated that the City/Schools relationship has historically been that of a <br /> landlord/tenant without a lease. He concluded that it is in everyone's interest to work together to <br /> formalize the relationship rather than evicting the tenant. <br /> Councilmember Shachner made final thoughts and noted that general complaints about the <br /> performance of the Rec Department should be brought to the Rec Department. <br /> Public Works & Sustainability Committee adjourned at 7:09 p.m. <br /> 4 <br />
