Motion passed.
***PUBLIC COMMENT****
Daniel Zielinski—2197 Northland Ave—Mr. Zielinski spoke of recent traffic accidents on
Clifton and called upon the city to consider the role of road design in these accidents. He pointed out that Clifton Blvd. has a median in Cleveland, but not
in Lakewood.
President O'Malley responded that he has been working on traffic safety in his ward and has
successfully worked with Cleveland officials to add turn arrows and other improvements at
the intersection of Clifton and W. 117 . He acknowledged that more can and should be done,
including targeted traffic enforcement and road re-design.
Councilmember Bullock expressed appreciation to Mr.Zielinski for highlighting this issue.
He referenced a constituent email regarding a traffic accident at Detroit and Waterbury
involving a baby.He advocated for visibility, slower speeds and strict consequences for
violators.
Joanne Ritschel— 1257 Arlington Ave.—Ms, Ritschel provided copies of recommendations
developed by a group of pool enthusiasts (attached).
