Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff, <br />Rader, Shachner <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021-58 BY: <br />A RESOLUTION to commend Tess Neff for her exemplary public service as a member of <br />Lakewood City Council. <br />WHEREAS, after several decades of distinguished public service within the justice <br />system and the Lakewood community, Tess Neff was elected by the people of Ward 1 to serve as <br />their representative on Lakewood City Council; and, <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Neff took office on January 1, 2020 and quickly immersed herself in a <br />range of public policy matters both large and small, all with the overarching goal of ensuring that <br />Lakewood remains a safe, vibrant place for people to live, work and visit; and, <br />WHEREAS, as Chair of the Public Safety Committee, Ms. Neff skillfully facilitated <br />numerous public meetings on sensitive and nuanced topics, always promoting collegiality, <br />compromise, and productive outcomes; and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Neff endeared herself to residents through her dedicated, hands-on <br />constituent services and eagerness to listen to and help residents with their questions and <br />concerns; and, <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Neff has now resigned her Ward 1 Council seat effective December 31, <br />2021 to assume the role of Judge of Lakewood Municipal Court, to which she was elected; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council does hereby commend Tess Neff for her two years of <br />dedicated public service as a member of Lakewood City Council. <br />Section 2. That this Council does hereby congratulate Tess Neff on winning election as <br />the first woman Judge of Lakewood Municipal Court and wishes her all the best in her new <br />position, for which she is eminently prepared and well -suited. <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />Adopted: <br />a J.
