Director Gelsomino spoke to her department's collaboration with the Planning Department on designing and programming spaces at the Cove Intergenerational Center. She also spoke about Human Services'work with Metro's Institute of HOPE to build trauma informed team for the community center. Both directors spoke about department operations such as meal delivery, social worker outreach,well check calls, senior transportation, and youth services. Human Services was awarded $450,000 contract with the county Department of Children &Families and served 332 families with that funding. Human Services remains committed to providing a safety net in 2022 and is looking to expand H2O into a senior program, establish tech resources for older&low-income residents, and investigate Cove Center rental potential. Councilmembers thanked Director Gelsomino for her years of service and leadership.
