He expressed confidence that Mr. Baker <br /> is capable of winning re-election and that the reasons to appoint him are compelling. <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to insert the name Kyle Baker <br /> into the blank in Resolution 2021-60. <br /> Discussion: Councilmember Rader spoke highly of the qualification and qualities of Laura <br /> Rodriguez-Carbone. He acknowledged that she would have made an excellent councilmember, <br /> however, he feels compelled to respect the message of the voters from Ward 1. <br /> Councilmember Shachner acknowledged that all of the applicants would have made great <br /> contributions to Council, however, in this case, Council has been guided by the voters of Ward 1. <br /> He thanked all applicants and noted their contributions. He expressed support for the motion and <br /> enthusiasm for working with Mr. Baker. <br /> Councilmember Kepple acknowledged the importance of representation and committed to <br /> continuing to work toward it.
