PETITION IN SUPPORT OF SA VING THE CURTIS BLOCKM
V K-
.NO DEMOLITIONM
We, the undersigned, support the full and complete rehabilitation of the Curtis Block
In its entirety. Gracing the intersection of Detroit and Marlowe Avenue since 1913, this
beauty resides on the last remaining original "four corners" in our downtown district.
The Summers 'administration promised our community the Curtis Block would be saved
from the wrecking ball. They even set aside the funds for the proper rehabilitation as
part of the hospital deal. Historic buildings make our community unique and more livable
and interesting, as the current real estate market reflects. Lakewood citizens own this
gem and strongly supported its Landmark designation by the Planning Commission. We
cannot lose the Curtis Block to an out-of-town developer that fails to appreciate its value
and significance to our historic community.
Now is the time to honor the promise of the prior administration. The Curtis Block must
remain and be rehabilitated, in its entirety, as a unique and special feature of the
proposed hospital site development project!
Name Address
pf
BJA
ey-
6k al,
Ix lt5-
4)
Han n h kaS,q r" ;AS
4
