Councilmembers briefly discussed outlining their priorities for <br /> the project and considered how a TIFF that included school district revenues would impact the <br /> proj ect. <br /> Pat Bellasch—Woodward Ave. —Mr. Bellasch spoke to the importance of preserving the Curtis <br /> Block building and city assets. He cited differences between the past and current efforts to <br /> redevelop the Lakewood hospital site. <br /> Ken Haber— 17897 Lake—Mr. Haber noted the extensive history of the City of Lakewood and <br /> its people. He expressed a desire to preserve the Curtis Block building and carve it out of the <br /> larger development proposal. He highlighted the importance of understanding how the deal <br /> would be financed. <br /> Kristine Adams — 1086 Forest Cliff—Ms. Adams encouraged city officials to lean towards <br /> preservation of the Curtis Block building and expressed optimism in regard to some altered <br /> renderings of the project. <br /> Ann Schleckman—Ms. Schleckman stated she is in favor of keeping the Curtis Block building. <br /> She expressed disappointment about an above ground parking garage design and the size of the <br /> community gathering space. She proposed installing a green space on top of the parking garage <br /> and listing more housing units for sale in the project. <br /> Linda Barbero—2249 Olive—Ms. Barbero spoke to how the Curtis Block building can improve <br /> the urban design of the Lakewood hospital site redevelopment. She described it as an important <br /> anchor and feature that gives the project scale and a sense of history. <br /> Julia Toke— 1682 Parkwood- Ms. Toke expressed excitement about the development and <br /> thanked the Mayor and others for their work on the project. <br /> Councilmember Bullock highlighted Ms. Barbero's comments and asked that the petitions left in <br /> Council Chambers be included in the record. (See attached) <br /> Rich Sicha— 1519 W. Clifton—Mr. Sicha cited potential high tenant turnover in the proposed <br /> 10,000-12,000 square foot retail space proposed at the Curtis Block building site. He provided <br /> examples of other businesses that needed more space, adding that engineering solutions were <br /> implemented to resolve space issues without gutting the interiors of buildings. <br /> Councilmember Kepple encouraged attendees interested in the financials of the plan to review <br /> previous meeting videos on Council's website. <br /> Vice President Litten noted that there is a substitute version of the resolution to correct an <br /> omission in the title. <br /> Motion by Vice President Litten, seconded by Councilmember Kepple to substitute Reso. 2022- <br /> 14 as summarized. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> The Committee and members of the administration briefly discussed the Committee of the <br /> Whole's upcoming meeting on Thursday, April 28h. <br /> 7 <br />
