Baker, Bullock, Kepple, Litten, <br />RESOLUTION 2022-20 BY: <br />Fader Shachner <br />A RESOLUTION to commend Antoinette (Toni) Gelsomino for her 30 years of dedicated <br />service to the seniors, youth, and young families of Lakewood through her inspired leadership in <br />the Department of Human Services. <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Gelsomino began her career with the City of Lakewood in 1992 within <br />the Division of Early Childhood where she played a central role to establish The Family Room, <br />the division's hallmark peer support program for Lakewood's young families; and <br />WI -AREAS, through her effective advocacy, community collaborations, and hard work, <br />Ms. Gelsomino was promoted to lead the Division of Early Childhood, and later, the entire <br />Department of Human Services in 2012; and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Gelsomino's passion for service has touched countless lives, ensuring <br />that regardless of budget constraints, leadership transitions or even an historic global pandemic, <br />that seniors had warm meals, transportation, and companionship; that young families received <br />support; and that youth had access to productive outlets for community engagement; and <br />WHEREAS, with the opening of the Cove Community Center on April 12, 2022, Ms. <br />Gelsomino realized her guiding vision which, for 30 years, she held, promoted, and worked with <br />others to achieve whereby Lakewood residents across the generations now have access to a high - <br />quality space in which to gather, build relationships and receive support; and <br />WHEREAS, after an inspiring 30-year career with the City of Lakewood, Ms. Gelsomino <br />will now transition from her role as a public official to an engaged and active citizen of <br />Lakewood; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council and Administration does hereby thank Antoinette (Toni) <br />Gelsomino for the length and quality of her service and leadership to Lakewood's Department of <br />Human Services since 1992. <br />Section 2. That this Council and Administration does hereby wish Toni, her husband <br />Tony, their three daughters, and three grandchildren all the best in their future endeavors in <br />Lakewood and beyond. <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />
