Harris's background, experience, and qualifications for the job. He informed Council that he will <br /> stay on through April to assist with the transition. He expressed confidence in the transition plan <br /> and will impress upon his successor that CCBH staff have worked tirelessly during the pandemic <br /> and need time to heal and rest. <br /> In response to a question, Commissioner Allan remarked on the mental health crisis that has <br /> followed the pandemic that will require many public health and social services resources. <br /> Director Gelsomino asked the Commissioner for advice on reconvening group activities within <br /> her program. <br /> Commissioner Allan encouraged the city to offer multiple options for people depending on <br /> comfort level and to try and maintain some spacing. <br /> Councilmembers, the Fire Chief, Director Gelsomino, and Mayor George all thanked <br /> Commissioner Allan and recalled stories from the pandemic when he was there to help and offer <br /> advice. <br /> Commissioner Allan reiterated that it's likely the pandemic is transitioning out of its acute phase <br /> but that if that changes, CCBH will be informing everyone. <br /> In response to a question, Commissioner Allan provided an update on the progress of vaccines <br /> for children under 5. He noted that children were impacted during Omicron due to the sheer <br /> number of cases, but not disproportionately so. <br /> Health & Human Services Committee adjourned at 6:17 p.m. <br /> 3 <br />
