Councilmember Baker added that he saw value in the proposal and asked if the city had explored <br /> a benefit payback in the case where an employee utilizes the benefit without working. Director <br /> Dillinger stated that LPD has a policy where employees are required to pay back the city for their <br /> academy training if they choose not to finish their probationary period. There are also similar <br /> tuition reimbursement policies. <br /> Councilmember Rader expressed support the ordinance. <br /> Director Dillinger concluded that she could draft a policy on benefit utilization. <br /> Motion by Chair Kepple, seconded by Councilmember Rader to recommend Ordinance 19-2022 <br /> for adoption by the full Council. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> The meeting was adjourned without objection at 6:44 p.m. <br /> 3 <br />
