Linda Cattani— 1441 Parkhaven Rd. Lakewood, OH—Ms. Cattani spoke against Resolution <br /> 2022-32 and questioned why state law can be overridden. <br /> Allison Urbanek— 1433 Spring Garden. Lakewood, OH—Ms. Urbanek expressed her support <br /> for a unanimous decision for Resolution 2022-32. She spoke about the importance of trusting <br /> women to make their own choices about their bodies. <br /> Madelyn Moberg— 6603 Orchard Ave. Parma, OH—Ms. Moberg spoke mostly against <br /> Resolution 2022-32 but showed an understanding of both sides. She expressed the importance of <br /> a woman making their own choice about healthcare but ultimately does not agree with the <br /> Resolution because she feels as though women may feel pressured to choose a career over a <br /> child. <br /> Giana Formica— 11871 Lake Ave. Lakewood, OH—Ms. Formica spoke in support of Resolution <br /> 2022-32 and explained the importance of Lakewood residents being able to make their own <br /> decisions about abortion without persecution. <br /> Acting President Kepple thanked everyone who spoke and acknowledged the 12 eComments that <br /> were submitted. <br /> She made closing remarks on the legislation, noting Council's fiduciary responsibility for the <br /> City budget and that this resolution addresses how the city allocates its resources. <br /> Councilmember Baker remarked that prior to the Dobbs decision, abortion was a federal right, <br /> and not a local matter and that Lakewood and other communities are doing their best to navigate <br /> the new terrain. He expressed support for the current approach and legislation. <br /> On the motion to adopt Resolution 2022-32, all members voted in favor.
