Referred to PWS 10/17/22 I Baker, Bullock, Litten, Marx, RESOLUTION NO.2022-43 BY: Rader, S ha cline r A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately providing it receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of the Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the City Engineer to file Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant Application with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) for Lakewood Skate Park Phase II project and to authorize matching funds to satisfy the requirements of the grant. WHEREAS, the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, provides financial assistance to municipalities for public recreation purposes, with funds from the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund program; WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood seeks financial assistance under the Land acid Water Conservation Fund, and; WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 2.12 of the Third Amended Charter of the City of Lakewood, this Council by a vote of at least two thirds of its members determines that this resolution is an emergency measure and that it shall take effect immediately, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health, and safety and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that this grant application must be submitted by no later than November 15, 2022; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: Section 1. Council hereby authorizes the City Engineer to submit an application to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for financial assistance from the Land and Water Conservation Fund, provide all information and documentation required for grant for eligibility, and to execute any agreements necessary to receive any awarded funds. Section 2. Council hereby authorized matching funds in the amount required to complete the proposed project and to qualify under the terms of the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were passed in open meetings of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such actions were in meetings open to the public and in compliance with legal requirements.
