assist the committee regarding health care issues. The committee will meet as often as necessary <br />Y to complete its work, with a target of at least one meeting per quarter. <br />The purpose of the Insurance Committee is to discuss and recommend changes to the city's <br />health care plans with the goal of reducing costs for both the city and the employees. An <br />additional goal of the committee is to review and recommend wellness programs which have the <br />expectation of saving the city insurance dollars. Each bargaining unit shall be entitled to cast one <br />vote, no matter the number of employees representing the bargaining unit on the committee. The <br />employees shall be entitled to cast one vote, no matter the number of representatives of <br />management or non -union employees serving on the committee. The employer shall be entitled <br />to cast one vote, no matter the number of representatives of management or non -union <br />employees serving on the committee. If the committee unanimously approves such proposed <br />new or revised plan or plans, then the employer is authorized to implement such plan or plans at <br />the next annual open enrollment period. <br />ARTICLE 17 LIABILITY INSURANCE <br />17.01 The City shall provide liability insurance (which may be through an insurance carrier, a <br />program of self-insurance or any combination thereof) for employees, including false arrest <br />coverage for a Police Officer regarding occurrences arising out of the performance of the <br />employee's duties, and such coverage shall be in the minimum amount of $1,000,000.00 per <br />person/$1,000,000.00 per incident/no aggregate for bodily injury, property damage and personal <br />injury. The FOP shall be provided copies of such current policies and coverage. <br />17.02 Subject to the limits of the policy, insurance coverage shall be provided to each employee <br />of the Division of Police operating City owned vehicles to protect the employee fully against any <br />and all claims arising out of the authorized operation of said vehicle. This insurance must cover <br />all claims for property damage and personal injury and shall be the sole responsibility of the City <br />to provide and maintain. <br />ARTICLE 18 LIFE INSURANCE <br />18.01 The City will purchase a life insurance policy, which will provide, subject to its terms, a <br />death benefit of at least $175,000 in the event a sworn Police Officer dies in the line of duty. <br />The benefit shall be paid in one payment. The policy shall also provide for dismemberment <br />coverage. <br />18.02 The City agrees to provide life insurance coverage to each employee covered by this <br />Agreement in the amount of 1.5 x the employee's annual salary up to $180,000. <br />18.03 The FOP shall be provided copies of such current policies and coverage <br />ARTICLE 19 CLOTHING MAINTENANCE <br />19.01 All employees shall receive an annual clothing maintenance of $2,000, paid in <br />installments in March and September.
