A. Upon successful completion of the basic probationary period, employees may take <br />accredited college courses with the approval of the Chief of Police. The City shall <br />reimburse such employee the full tuition expense provided the employee receives a <br />grade of "C" or the equivalent at the completion of each course. If the employee <br />leaves the Division of Police within four (4) years of such reimbursement, the <br />employee shall have the full amount of tuition reimbursement deducted from their <br />final payout or make full reimbursement to the City. <br />ARTICLE 25 BULLETIN BOARDS <br />25.01 The City shall furnish two (2) bulletin boards to be used by the members of the FOP. <br />A. Such bulletin boards shall be used only for posting notices bearing the written <br />approval of the FOP and shall be solely for FOP business, recreational and social <br />activities. <br />B. There shall be no notices or other writings posted which contain anything political, <br />controversial or critical of the City or any other institution, or any employee or other <br />persons. <br />ARTICLE 26 CORRECTIVE ACTION <br />26.01 Disciplinary action taken by the City for a non -probationary employee shall only be for <br />just cause. Disciplinary action taken against a probationary employee shall not be appealable <br />through the grievance procedure addressed in this agreement. <br />26.02 Anon -probationary employee shall be provided, in cases requiring a pre -disciplinary <br />conference, i.e. suspension, demotion or dismissal, a written notice of the charges and the <br />reason(s) for disciplinary action(s) to be taken. The City shall provide the employee with notice <br />of a pre -disciplinary conference at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to convening the pre - <br />disciplinary conference for any discipline that may result in suspension, demotion, dismissal or <br />termination of employment. The employer shall provide the employee with a copy of all <br />evidence used in determining charges upon serving the employee with written notice. <br />26.03 Forms of discipline shall be: <br />A. Verbal warning; <br />B. Written reprimand; <br />C. Suspension (employee may by mutual consent, use accrued holiday leave, accrued <br />vacation leave, or accrued overtime in lieu of serving an unpaid suspension. Consent <br />to use of such accrued paid leave shall not be unreasonably denied); <br />D. Demotion and; <br />22 <br />
