Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to refer Ord. 02-2023 to <br /> Housing, Planning &Development Committee. All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> Ord. 02-2023 referred to Housing,Planning& Development Committee. <br /> 16. Communication from Police Chief Kaucheck regarding Office of Criminal Justice Services <br /> ARPA Violent Crime Reduction Strategies Grant. <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to receive & file the <br /> communication. <br /> Discussion: In response to a question from a councilmember regarding privacy, Chief Kaucheck <br /> explained that a person has no expectation of privacy of their license plate number. He remarked <br /> further on the operation of the technology, noting that license plate data is erased after 30 days. <br /> On the motion: All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> ***PUBLIC COMMENT**** <br /> Ruby Kumar— 1624 Cohassett Ave. <br /> Ms. Kumar questioned the process by which Council appoints a member to a vacant seat. <br /> President Litten,responded, referencing the procedure outlined in the Third Amended Charter. <br /> ****ANNOUNCEMENTS**** <br /> Councilmembers acknowledged the work of Deputy Clerk Lascu upon his departure from <br /> employment with the City. <br /> Director Leininger announced that the City closed on 1294 Lake Ave —the property it was <br /> seeking to pursue the Integrated Wet Weather Improvement Plan. <br /> President Litten announced that the Council Office will be hiring to fill the soon-to-be vacant <br /> Deputy Clerk position and encouraged applicants. <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to adjourn the meeting.
