9. Report from Housing, Planning, & Development Committee meeting held January 30, <br /> 2023. (pg. 56) <br /> Motion by Councilmember Bullock, seconded by Acting President Kepple to receive and file <br /> communication. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 10. ORDINANCE 02-2023 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take <br /> effect at the earliest period allowed by law, expanding rental rights within the City of <br /> Lakewood by allowing renters who tender their full rent plus any additional late fees and <br /> court costs prior to completion of eviction proceedings to avoid eviction for late payment <br /> of rent and setting reasonable late fees that a landlord may charge a tenant. (1 st read& <br /> referred to HPD 1/17/23) (pg. 57) <br /> Councilmember Rader thanked the County and the Housing Chair for considering the importance <br /> of tenants' rights in Lakewood. <br /> Motion by Acting President Kepple, seconded by Councilmember Rader to suspend the rules to <br /> pass Ordinance 02-23. <br /> A role call was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas - Baker, Bullock, Kepple, Marx, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. The rules were suspended to allow for the passing of Ordinance 02-2023. <br /> Motion by Acting President Kepple, seconded by Councilmember Rader to adopt Ordinance 02- <br /> 2023. <br /> A role call was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas - Baker, Bullock, Kepple, Marx, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed.
