Mr. Anthes explained that Community Solutions would
work with the Administration to bring a proposal for next steps to Council. He expressed the
importance of support for the body.
Chair Kepple and Mr. Anthes spoke about the implementation tool and the perspectives that
Lakewood residents will be able to offer. Chair Kepple brought up that more individuals participated in the online charette than
the in-person charette, and asked if this was typical or unique to Lakewood. Mr. Anthes
explained that the online survey was up for a week while the in-person event was a single day.
He also expressed that people feel more comfortable sharing their opinions online.
Chair Kepple expressed her support for the Action Plan and mentioned that January was
designated as Poverty Awareness Month for the City of Lakewood. She
explained the importance of the data collected and how an implementation tool will keep work
moving forward.
Healthy Lakewood Foundation Director Kate Ingersoll highlighted that systemic issues will not
be solved with one entity. She shared her support for the advisory committee as a unifying body.
Chair Kepple thanked the organizations for attending the meeting. She expressed her views on
the proposed standing body.
Councilmember Bullock expressed that the Action Plan is just the beginning, and he is looking
forward to learning more about the project.
Approval of the minutes of the Health& Human Services Committee held September 12,
2022
2
