explained that LCSC has had to keep people for up to months at a time because of the high rent <br />price in Lakewood. <br /> <br />Councilmember Baker asked Director Rooney about LCSC’s food assistance program after the <br />pandemic. Director Rooney explained the process of home delivery and the intention to maintain <br />that program. The home delivery will not take place from the Youth Building but instead the <br />th <br />former Norton Industries on 117Street. The warehouse has a potential plan of turning into a <br />drive-through restaurant while LCSC plans to use the buildingfor the food bank and pantry <br />operation. <br />Councilmember Bullock asked what decisions will be made tonightregarding the approval for <br />the transfer of the building. President Litten explained the plan to set aside the $200,000 for the <br />purpose of the building while makingother ARPA decisions first. Councilmember Bullock <br />expressed the importance of continued discussions with LakewoodAlive and the potential <br />expansion of the pool of resources. <br /> <br />Director Leininger explained that with the two applicants, there was only going to be one <br />decision made regarding the building. He encouraged members to be decisive <br />and to make allocations at tonight’s meeting. The committee reviewed and discussed the <br />following proposals: <br />Chamber of Commerce Economic Relief <br />Multiple councilmembers expressed interest in the proposal buta desire to continue discussions <br />with the Chamber before allocating funds. <br />Pickleball Court Conversion <br />Councilmember Baker pledged to increasehisallocation to $15,000. <br />Madison park Master Plan implementation <br />Councilmember Marxpledged to increaseherallocation by$15,000. <br />Through discussion, Mayor George affirmed that the pickleball court conversion and Madison <br />Park Master Plan implementation proposals will go forward regardless of Council’s ARPA <br />allocations.
