It is staffed 24 hours a day by two full-time <br />found. These employees include our Dispatchers, Correction Officers, Correction Officers and when they are not on duty, the Patrol Division staffs the <br />Jail with specially trained police officers. <br />Animal Control Officers, and support personnel. These employees are <br />supervised by the Administrative Division Commander. <br />Beginning at the onset of the pandemic and continuing throughout 2022, <br />Cuyahoga County Jail has refused to take the bulk of our prisoners who were <br />sentenced for misdemeanors under state code, which is counter to their <br />statutory obligation. As a result, LakewoodÔs cost to house prisoners at alternate <br />facilities has risen dramatically over that period. The City of Lakewood is <br />currently seeking reimbursement from the county for these costs. <br /> <br />
