DocuSign Envelope ID: AB341 CEO-D25D-42AB-8338-El FE1A413E398 Referred to COW 11 / 0 6 /2 3 ; Discharged <br />from COW and referred 12/18/2023; <br />Please substitute for original <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2 0 2 3 - 6 0 BY: Baker, Bullock, Kepple, Marx, <br />Rader, Shachner, Strebig <br />A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of at <br />least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the <br />earliest period allowed by law, appointing five members to the Charter Review Commission <br />for a six-month term beginning January 1, 2024. <br />WHEREAS, Article 7.5 of the Third Amended Charter compels the City to convene a <br />Charter Review Commission every ten years, beginning January 2024 to which Council shall <br />appoint five members who are not officeholders or employees of the City; and, <br />WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 2.12 of the Third Amended Charter of the City of <br />Lakewood, this Council by a vote of at least two thirds of its members determines that this <br />resolution is an emergency measure and that it shall take effect immediately, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health, and safety and to provide <br />for the usual daily operation of municipal departments, in that these positions should be filled <br />immediately to ensure the Charter Review Commission is at full capacity to perform its work; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. Council appoints Dean <br />Donna Taylor-Kolis and Angelina Steiner <br />month term beginning January 1, 2024. <br />Jackson, Martha Woerner, Sean Koran, <br />to the Charter Review Commission for a six - <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were passed in open meetings of this <br />Council and that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such <br />actions were in meetings open to the public and in compliance with legal requirements. <br />Section 3. This resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for <br />the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare in the City <br />and for the usual daily operation of the City for the reasons set forth and defined in the preamble <br />to this ordinance, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the <br />members of Council, this resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br />by the Council and approval by the Mayor, or otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br />Adopted: <br />1/16/2024 <br />Approved: Z `f <br />DocuSigned by: <br />42 <br />Sarah Kepple, President of Council <br />DocuSigned by: <br />s: <br />Maureen M.
