0RDI!~NCE NO.18~l By Mr. Hart AN ORDIATANCE determining to proceed with, and levying and assessin~ ~ special tax to pay the cost and exoense of improvingOnondaga Avenue from St. Charles Avenue to Madison AVen~e by paving same with brick or bituminous concrete, or sheet asphalt, or asphalt block, or bitulithic, or cement con- crete, doing any and all grading, draining and curbing and constructing curb connections incidental and necessary therets, and authorizing the Mayor a~d Director of Finance to issue honda in the sum of $1~,246.00 in antici- pation of said special tax to provide a fund to pay the per%ion of%he cost and expense ef said improvement for which said special tax ia levied. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Lakewood, State of Ohio, three-fourths of all members thereof concurring: Section 1~ That it is hereby determined to proceed with the improve- ment of Onondaga Avenue from St. Charles ~A~ehUe to Madison Avenu~ by paving same with brick or bituminous concrete, or sheet asphalt, or asphalt block cr bitulit~ic, or cement concre, doing any and all grading, draining and curbing and constructing curb connections incidental and necessary thereto. in accordance wlth Resolution No. 1973 passedMarch 6, 1922 and in accordance with plans, specifications, estimates and profiles here- tofore approved and now on file in the office of the Director of Public Works. Section 2: That all claims for ds.mages resulting from said improve- men~ shall be judicially inquired into mfter the completion thereof, and that the Director of Public ~orks be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into contract for said improvemen~ in the manner provSded ~y law, which improvement, in accordance with Article Section 16 of the Charter has been estims, ted by the Director of Public Works to have a life of 20 years. Section 3: That far the purpose oI~paying the cost and expense of said · mprovement there is hereby levied and assessed a special tax upon the several lots and parcels of land designated in and in accordance with Estimated Assessmen~ No. 494 as made for that purpose by the Director of Finance and recommended to this Council by the Board of Revision of Assessments. Said estin~ted assessmen~ was made on the basis of special benefits conferred by said improvement on the several parcels of land therein described and the s~e is herezn confirmed, adopted and approved, Section ~ That the owners of the several lots or parcels of land in- cluded mn said assessment shall pay the amounts from them severally due as shown by Column No. 3 of said Esti~tad Assessment No.. 494to the City Treasurer on or before thirty days from %he date of the passage of this ordinance, at their option, and in deE~ult thereof said special assessment with interest at the rate of 5~per centum per annum, upon deferred payments, shall be payable to the County Treasurer in 9 annual installments with the regular taxes of 1922 to 19~0 both inclusive, Section ~ That to provide a fund for the D?~y~ent .~ the portiion of the Cost and expense for which the special assesc..~s~ herein is lev~ed for said improvement, The l~ayor and Director of Finance be end they are hereby authorized to issue 9~ bonds of the City of Lakewood, Ohio in · the ~ggregate sum of$1~,246.00 ef which bonds one bend in the sum of $1,695.00 shall be due and payable on October l, 1923 and one bond in the sum of $1,694.00
