ORDI!~NCE NO, 1896 By Mrs. Knirk ~N 0RD~NANCE determining tO proceed wit~ and lewin ~ ec'~ . · y g and assess~Jg P _~=~.tax to.pgy t~e cost and expense :of improving Alger Road from the sou~n line of Araen Avenue Subdivision to Lakewood Heights Boulevard by constructing sewer main of vitrified sewer pipe therein, with necessary ~anho!es, catchbasins, curb connections, and other appurtenances incidental thereto, and authorizing the Mayor and Director of Finance to ~ssue bonds in the sum of $7.~90.00 in anticipation of said tax to provide a fund to pay the portion of the cost and expense of said improvement for which said special tax is levied. BE IT ORDAINED by the CouMcil of the City 0'f Lakewood, State of Ohio, three-fOurths of~all members thereof concurring: ~1~ ~ge~h~a~tf~mh~b~ ~etermined to Proceed with the improve- o th line of Arden Avenue Subdivision to Lakewoed Heights Boulevard by constructing sewer main of vitrified sewer pipe therein, with necessary manholes, catchbasins, cUrb connections, and other appurtenances incidental themetc in accordance with Resolution No, 2000 passed April 3, 1922 and in accorde, nce with plans, specifications, estimates and profiles here- tofore approved and now on file in the office of the Director of Public Works, Section. 2: .That all claims for d~,mages resulting from Said improve- men~ Shall ce Judicially inquired into after the completion thereof, and tha{ the Director of Public ~orke be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into contract for said improvement in the manner provided by law, which improvement, in accordance with Article l~, SeCtion 16 of the Charter has been estimated by the Director of Public Works to have a life of 20 years. Section 3: That for the purpose ol~ paying the cos% and expense of said improvement there is hereby levied and assessed a special tax upon the several lots and parcels of land designated in and in accordance with EStimated Assessment No. ~12 as made for that purpose by the Director of Finance and recommended to this Council by the Board of Revision Of Assessments, Said~estims, ted assessment was made on the basis o~~ special benefits conferred by said improvement on the several parcels of land therein described and the same is herein confirmed, adopted and approved, SeCtion ~: That the owners of the several lots or parcels of land in- cluded in said~assessment .shall, pay the amounts from them severally due as shown by COlumn No. 3 of Said Estimste.d Assessment No, ~12 to the City Treasurer on or before thirty days fro~ %he date of the passage of this ordinance, at their option, and in def~ult thereof said special assessment with interest at the rate 0f %~ per centum per annum,~upon deferred Payments, Shall be Payable to the County Treasurer in 5 annual installments with the regular taxes of 1922 to 1926 botL inclusive, Section %: That to provide a fund for the ~,'~?J~nt .,~ the portiion of the cost and expense for which the special assesJ~,'~ent herein is levief for said improvement, The.
