<br /> AN 0RDIN~CE, extending the period durins which the
<br />terms and conditions of Ordinance No. 1720, entitled:

<br /> #AN ORDINANCE regulating and fixing the price
<br /> for natural gas supplied by The East Ohio Gas Company,
<br /> its successors ~nd assigns, to the City of Lakewood,
<br /> Ohio, and its inhabitants, for domestic purposes,
<br /> for the period beginning immediately upon the taking
<br /> effect cf this ordi.nance and its acceptance in writing
<br /> by said The East Ohio Gas Company, and ending on the
<br /> thirtieth day ~ ~une, 1924,"

<br />passed by the'Council of 'the City ~f ~.akewood. 0h~io, o,n ~une
<br />27, 1921, shall continue in full force ~nd effectS. '
<br />
<br /> UHEREAS, Said Ordinance Ns. 1720 will, according
<br />to its terms and conditions, cease to be of effect on the
<br />thirtieth da,v of June, 1924, and unless in the meantime
<br />satisfactory arrangements can be made with The East Ohio
<br />Gas Company, the City of Lakewood and its inhabitants
<br />will be Nithout a s~pply of natural gas, and
<br />
<br /> v~'{~AS, There is not @ufficient time before the
<br />termination of said Ordinance No. 1720, in which 'to negotiate
<br />a new ordinance fixing and regulating %he price at which said
<br />The East Ohio Oas Company shall furnish natural g~s to the City
<br />of Lakewood, and its inhabitants, after said termination, to-wit,
<br />~une 30, 1924, and
<br />
<br /> V~R!?~AS, the Council of the City of Lakewood desires
<br />that said Gas Company will extend the life of said 0rdin~mce No.
<br />1~2~ for a period of thirty (30) days from the present date of
<br />expiration, to-wit ~une 30, 1924,
<br />
<br /> BE tT ORDAIN~ BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />OHIO~ ~ ~ J ~
<br />
<br /> Section 1: That the terms and conditions contained in
<br />said Ordinance No. 1720, passed by the Council of the City of
<br />Lo2ewood on the 27th day of June, 1921, be anna the same shall be
<br />contim~ed in full force and effect for a period of thirty
<br />da~vs fro m and after the expiration date of said Ordinance No.
<br />1720, to-wit June 30, 192~.
<br />
<br /> Section 2, That upon the termination of this ordinance,
<br />to-wit, midnight ~uly 30~ 1924, all rights of said Gas Company to
<br />occupy the streets, alleys, public~grounds a~d public places of
<br />said City of Lakewood, and its obligations to supply natural gas
<br />therein, shall cease, except that said Gas Company shall have a
<br />reasonable time thereafte~ in which to remove its pipes, mains
<br />and other structures from the streets, alleys, public grounds
<br />and public places of said City,
<br />
<br /> Section 3- This ordinance shall take affect and be in
<br />force from and after the earliest period allowed by law and t~
<br />aCceptance of the terms thereof by The East Ohio Gas Company.

<br />Passed in Council this 19th day of May A. D., 1924.
