Gormsen, <br /> <br /> A~ 0P~I~ANCE to provide for the protection of persons <br />in the business of renting or lending electric storage batteries. <br /> <br /> ~ IT ORDAIk~ED by the Council of the City of Lakewood, <br />State of Ohio, two-thirds of all members elected thereto concurring:- <br /> <br /> Section 1: That the words "rental battery" as used in <br />this 0rdinance are defined as an electric storage battery loaned, <br />rented or furnished for temporary use by any person, firm or corporation <br />engaged in the business of buying, selling, repairing or recharging <br />electric storage batteries. All such persons, firms or corporations <br />may mark any sucH. rental battery belonging to them with the words <br />"Rental" printed, painted or stamped upon or attached to such battery, <br />together with such words as shall identify such battery as the property <br />of the person, firm or corporation so making the same, <br /> <br /> Section 2: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm <br />or corporation so to mark any such batteries which are not the property <br />of such person, firm or corporation. <br /> <br /> Section 3: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or <br />corporation to remove, deface, alter or destroy the word "Rental" on any <br />rental battery or anyother words ,mark, ' or character printed, painted or <br />stamped upon or attached to any rental b~t~ery to identify the same as <br />belonging or being the property of any person, firm or corporation. <br /> <br /> Section 4: It shall be unlawful for any person, fir~ or <br />corporation, other than the owner thereof, to sell, dispose of, deliver, <br />rent or give to anyother person, firn~ or corporation any rental battery <br />marked by the owner thereof as provided in Section i hereof. <br /> <br /> Section [: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or <br />corporation engaged in the business of buying, selling, repairing or <br />recharging electric storage batteries to recharge or repair any rental <br />battery not owned by such person, firm or corporation marked by the owner <br />thereof ~s provided in Section i hereof. <br /> <br /> Section 6: It shall be unlav~ul for any person, firm or <br />corporation to retain in his, their or its possession for a longer period <br />than ten (10) days without the written consent of the owner, any rental <br />battery marked as ouch by the owner thereof, as provided by Section 1 <br />hereof. <br /> <br /> Section 7: Any person, firm or corporation, and officers, <br />agents,'employees and members of any firm or corporation, violating <br />any provis~ons of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemaanor and <br />upon conviction thereof shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not to exceed <br />$100.00 or be in prison for a term of not to exceed thirty (30) days, <br />or both, at the discretion of the Court. <br /> <br />Adopted~~Z~_~ <br /> / <br /> <br />Approved~~~- <br /> - ~ Acing <br /> <br /> <br />
