ELDEN of <br />THIRTY ~EV~N DOLLARS ($37.00) for damage to her wearing <br />apparel caused by a fall at 1740~ Detroit Avenue on ~ccount <br />of defective sidewalk, and declaring an emergency. <br /> <br />WHEREAS Eulalia B. Elden s~ffered damage to wear[rig apparel <br />because of fall August 5th, 1928 at 1740~ Detroit Avenue, on <br />account of defective sidewalk, and, <br /> <br />WEEREAS th~s claimwas referred to the Committee on Claims <br />who on September 17th submitted report recommending that the <br />matter be referred to the Mayor and Director of Law for <br />settlement, and, <br /> <br />V~HEREAS the Mayor and Director of Law have reached an agree- <br />ment with ~sm Elden to m~ke settlement for $37,00 and, <br /> <br />~R~AS Council on October 15th approves of proposed settle- <br />ment, <br /> <br />THE~-T~0RE BE IT ORDAINED by the Co~ncil of the City of <br />Lakewood, State of Oh[o, two-th~rds of all members elected <br />thereto concurring:- <br /> <br />Section 1: That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby <br />a~thor~zed to pay to EULALIA B. ~DEN, 1460 Rcycroft Aven~e, <br />the sum of THIRTY ~VEN D~S ($37.00) for damage tow~aring <br />apparel be~amse of fall sustained August 5th, 192~ at 1740~ <br />Detroit Avenue, on account of defective sidewalk~ upon <br />t~lss Elden signing release releasing the City from any f~rther <br />claim in connection w~th this accidentl <br /> <br />Section 2: As stated in the Preamble, this Ordinance is <br />declared to be ~n emergency m~as~re and shall be in fall <br />force and ~ffeot from and after its passage and approval by <br />the Nayor. <br /> <br />pre. sid~ <br /> <br />App .. ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
