ORDINANCE NO. 3332 by Mr. Phillips AN E;~ERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor to place on definite furloughs without pay, employees in various departments of the city. WHEREAS, when the appropriation ordinance for the year 1932 was adopted it was based upon an estimated amount of receipts and balances in the General Fund making an estimated total of $753,918.00, and, WHEREAS, general property taxes ham fallen below the estimate of the County Auditor and the amount received from intangible taxes also has fallen below the amount estimated by the County Auditor, and receipts from the operation of the Lekewood City Hospital and the Lake~ood Municipal ~ourt have fallen below the revenues estimated for the year, all of which has resulted in a d~ficiency for the year 1932 in operatin~ revenues making it necessary to reach an adJustmen~ of operatix~ expens~ for all depar~ents of the city,- THEREFORE,BE iT ORDAINED BY THE CUUNCIL of the City of LaVabo od, State of Ohio, two-thirds of all members ~hereof oonourring:-~ .~ Section 1 That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized ~o place on furlough for definite periods, without pay, employees indi~ated as follows: Department of Public Safety Division of Building Inspection - Three (3) Assistant Building Inspectors for one month each, without.pay. Division of Health - Two (2)' Sanitary Officers fox' one month each, without pay. ~ep.artment of Public Works Division of Permits - One fl) Permit Clerk, One (1) Stenographer-Clerk, one (1) Telephone 0perator-Olerk for one month each., without pay. ~ivisio~ qf Ensineerin~ - one (1) Transitman and three (3) r~dmen for one month each, Wlthou~ Day · ~i~Isi~n of .Parks - T~e ~ Supe~intendent of Parks and the Caretaker at Madison Park for one month each, without pay, Division of Streets and Parks - One (1~ Stenographer- ....... C~ rk for one m~h, without pay. Section 2. That the employees enumerated in Section One hereof shall be fUrlOughed at such time and in such manner as the May°r may direct wi~h the least effect on the service of the respec~ive departments. .~ection 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure to provide for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and property and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal dep~rtmen~s, for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof, an~ shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
