ORDINANCE NO~ 3523 BY Mro Fahrenbach <br /> <br /> AM ORDINANCE to amend Section 4 of Ordinance No. 3414 entitled "An <br />Ordinance creating a boxing and wrestling commission of three members to be <br />appointed by the Mayor to serve without compensation, and m~thorizing the in- <br />vestigation and licensing of places where boxers and wrestlers are trained. <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, an emergency exists to provide for the usual daily operation <br />of municipal departments. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL'OF THE CITY OF IAKE~OOD, STATE OF OHIO. <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 3414 entitled "An ordi- <br />nance creating a boxing and wrestling commission of three members to be ap- <br />pointed by the Mayor to serve without compensation, and authorizing the in- <br />vestigation and licensing of places where boxers and wrestlers are trained" <br />be and the same hereby is amended to read, as follows: <br /> <br />Section 4. Grantees of permits for boxing and wrestling ex- <br />hibitions shall pay to the director of finance of the City <br />of l~kewood an amount equal to six per cent of the gross receipts <br />of the boxing and wrestling exhibitions held under such permit, <br />provided, however, that such fees shall not be required in <br />cases of boxing or wrestling exhibitions given in a theater <br />as a regular part of any theater program, or any boxing or <br />wrestling exhibition by a Lakewood organization the proceeds <br />of which are to be used for charitable purposes, which purposes <br />shall be subject to the approval of the boxing commission~ <br /> <br />That said section 4 of Ordinance No. 3414 be and it is hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> Section 2e This ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure <br />for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof, and shall be in full force and <br />effect upon its passage by a vete of two-thirds of the members of the council <br />and its approval by the mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />April 15, 1935 <br /> <br />James Gormsen <br /> President <br /> <br />H.
