<br /> WHEREAS~ by reason of geoeral increased costs f_n operation~
<br />tax_cab comDaules furnishing metered service in the C~.ty of Lakewood
<br />have heretofore iucrease~ metered razes of fare~ and w ereas~ by
<br />reason of such i~creased costs, and more especially,by reason of
<br />current demands ~ vaxmcab drivers for increased guaran~mes
<br />percentage of ~ay 'so labor, ~t becor~ss necessary for the ~.:mtedn_ate
<br />ureservation of the public peace to increase the flat rate to be
<br />~harged by non-metered taxi~abs for rides withi~ the Ci~y of Lakewood;

<br /> Section 1. That Section Vll RATES 0P FARE of ordinance
<br />~;o. 3~2V entitled "An ordinance regulating and licensing taxicabs and
<br />auto~noozles kept for hire a~d livery purposes in the City of Lakewood~
<br />0~io, adopted ~.iay 20, 1935 and amended by Ordinance i~o. 3532 adopted
<br />June 1~, 1935, b~ and. the same is .~ereby amended to read, as follows:

<br /> Vll RATES 0F
<br />
<br /> I~,~T~ED RATES. All charges for metered servzce of a tax_cab
<br />shall be in units of fractions of a mile which s):all not be greeter
<br />tha: one-half or less t~.-~an ~-me-fifth of a :~ile and tl~e f~re c[~:ar~ed

<br />does not exceed the maximum rate of fare permitted above.
