YJEiEREAS, Etta P`.ary Reed was injured on April 16~ 1940, by falling on defective street at the crosswalk located at the intersection of iusadison Avenue with Revely Avenue as a result of which she has incurred expenses and has filed action against the City of Lakewood in the Court of Common Pleas of Cuyahoga County, known as Case Number 499,478, and Y$:ERr~AS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency in that in order to save the City unnecessary e~ense it authorizes the immediate_.settlement and adjustment of such claim promptly and provides for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAIPIED BY THE COUfdCIL OF THE CITY OF T~AKEPd00D, STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That settlement of the claim of Etta Mary Reed for the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) is hereby authorized, conditioned upon execution and delivery by Etta Mary Reed of a full release in favor of the City of Lakewood duly approved by the Director oY Law. SECTION 2: That the Director of Finance be, and he is hereby, authorized to pay the sum of $;100.00 to Etta ]dart' Reed upon the delivery to him o£ the foregoing release duly executed and ap- proved and to charge the same to tl:e General Fund Danages Paid by the City.
