Seward for personal injuries sustained and expenses in- <br /> curred by reason of falling over a raised water meter vault and curb box. <br /> WH~R~' <br /> EAS`, Esther H. Seward incurred personal injuries on <br /> or about November 23d, 1943, at about 9:30 o~clock A.M. by reason of fal- <br /> ling over a raised water meter vault and curb box in front of or near <br /> 1386 Belle Avenue in the City of Lakewood, and <br /> Vu'fIER.EAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency in that <br /> in order to save the city from litigation, unnecessary expense, and pos- <br /> sible additional obligations, it authorizes the immediate settlement and <br /> adjustment of said claim and provides for the usual dai7.y operation of a <br /> municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COIINCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE~i00D, <br /> STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That settlement of the claim of Esther H. Seward <br /> for the sum of One Hundred Fifty-nine Dollars 0159.00) is hereby authorized, <br /> conditioned upon the execution and delivery by Esther H. Seward and her <br /> husband, Stanley P. Seward, of a full release in favor of the City of Lake- <br /> wood duly approved by the Director of Law. <br /> .Section 2. That the Director of Finance be, and he is <br /> hereby, authorized and directed to pay the sum of One Hundred Fifty-nine <br /> Dollars ($159.00) to Esther H. Seward upon delivery to him of the fore- <br /> going release duly executed and approved, and to charge the same to the <br /> General Fund -Damages Paid by the City. <br /> Section 3.
