ORDINANCE nos 4521 BY Nrc Quinn <br /> <br />AN F~ERGENCY ORDINANCE fixing the salaries of the members of the <br /> <br />Council of the City of Lakewood beginning December 31, 1947~ <br /> <br /> V~EREAS Article III, Section 3 of the Charter of the City of <br />Lakewood provides in substance that the salaries of the members of Council <br />may ~e changed by Ordinance, Provided such ordinance is Passed at. lC'asr <br />one year prior to the next regular municipal election, and~ <br /> <br /> V~IEREAS the next regular mum~cipal election will be held during <br />the month of NOvember, 1949, and <br /> <br />WHE~F~S an emergency exists to provide for the immediate preser- <br /> <br />vation of the public property~ health and safety and to provide for the <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br /> <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That beginning December 31, 1947 the salaries <br />of the members of the Council of the City ef I~kewood <br />shall be One Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars($1,800oO0) <br />per annum payable in equal monthly installmentso <br /> <br />Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble <br />hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force i~nedia~elyupon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted:, <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />December 15, 1947 <br /> <br />December 16, 1947 <br /> <br />Nm.
