ORDINANOE NO. 4594. <br /> <br />By- Mr. McGill. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Direc~r of <br /> pay to or for the account of George villwock and Helen V~llwock, <br />l~tnance to $260.18 on account of injuries to their son, Thomas Francis <br />the sum of <br />Villwock, a minor <br /> WHEREAS, on March 3, 1948, at about 1~0 P. M. o'clock, Thomas <br />~rancis vill~ock, the minor child of George and Helen V~lwock was injured <br />in the Police Station driveway by crossing in front of and ranning int~ a <br />police automobile then being driven from the driveway ~etween the p~lice <br />Stati on and the Municipal Court buildings by reason whereof the part~ <br />have incurred expense; a~d <br /> V~E~S, the City of ~akewood does not recognize, nor does ~e ~uncil <br /> by this ordinance, intend to recognize, any legal obligation on the part of <br /> the City of Lakewood, but the Council intending the payment authorized <br /> hereunder to be made as a moral c1~=4m$ and <br /> .~H~REAS, an emergency exists in that Ooumcil considers it advisable %o <br /> forthwmth make provision for the payment of said expenses mud in order to <br /> provide ~or the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore <br /> ~E IT C~DAINED BT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAK~00D~ STATE ~ OHIO~ <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Finance be,' ~ he is hereby, <br /> authorized and directed to pay George vLLlwock and Helen ~illwock, as a moral <br /> claim on account of injuries to their son, Thomas F~ancis Villwock, the sum <br /> of $260.18, payable $200.00 directly to them and the sum of $60.18, for <br /> their account, to Lakewood Hospital for x-rays and hospital board and eare <br /> rendered the said minor, contiEent however, up~ settlement being authorized <br /> by the Probate Court of Ouyahoga County, and the execution by George Villwo~k <br /> and Helen V4~lwock of a full and complete release on account thereof, <br /> satisfactory to the Director of ~aw$ said s,,m~ to be paid from the General <br /> ~and - General Miscellaneous. <br /> Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br /> for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and, provided it receives the <br /> affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to CoUncil, it shall <br /> take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br /> Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted <br /> <br />Nov. 1~ 1948 <br /> <br />~Vm.
