ORDINANCE NO. 4681 <br /> <br />BY Mr. Q~uinn <br /> <br /> AN ~RGENCY ORDINanCE creating positions and fixing the compensation of employes <br /> in the Division of parks and Public Grounds, Department of Public Works~ beginning with <br /> and including May 16, 1950, and repealing Ordinance No. 4674, adopted April 17, 1950. <br /> <br /> I~HEREAS, an emergency exists in that certain provisions of Ordinance No. 46?4 are <br /> inconsistent with the provisions of Ordinance No. 465? adopted April 3, 1~50, requiring <br /> the immediate elimination of any such conflict, and in that it provides for the usual <br /> daily operation of a municipal-department, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Positions are hereby created, and the regular time compensations of <br />employes holding such positions are hereby fixed, in the Division of Parks and Public <br />Grounds as follows: <br /> <br /> (a) Park Superintendent <br /> (b) Foreman - Class A <br /> Class B <br /> (c) Lakewood Park Caretaker <br /> (d) Park Caretakers <br /> (e) Laborers - Class A <br /> Class B <br /> Class C <br /> <br />provided, however, that Laborers may be assigned from time to time, <br />and at rates of compensation designated as follows: <br /> <br />$5,500.00 per annum <br /> 4,140.00 per annum <br /> 3,816.00 per annum <br /> 2,496.00 per annum <br /> 2,616.00 per annum <br /> 1.42 per hour <br /> 1.35 per hour <br /> 1.10 per ho~r <br /> <br />to the special work <br /> <br /> Tree Work in Trees <br /> Truck Drivers 1.63 per hour <br /> 1.52 per hour <br />provided further, that wherever the terms "Class A", "Class B" and "Class C" are used <br />in this Section, such classification shall be as determined and fixed by the Director <br />of Public Works. <br /> <br /> Section 2, The Mayor, as Director of Public ~orks, is authorized to appoint <br />such additional employes in the Division of Parks and Public Grounds as may be required <br />from time to t~ on a temporary basis, at the rates of compensation fixed herein for <br />said classifications; Provided, however, that such employes shall be classed as temp- <br />orary employes and shall not be eligible for the benefits provided in Ordinance No. <br />465? for full time permanent hourly employes. <br /> <br /> Section 3. All compensation shall be payable in semi-monthly installments. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this-ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and, provided it receives the affirmatiVe <br />vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council~ it sh~ll take effect beginning <br />and including May 16, 1950 and Ordinance No. 46?4, adopted April 17, 1950, shall be <br />and is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted:...
